Catholic Charities would appreciate it greatly if parishes would put one or more the following in their weekly bulletin announcements . . .

FeedOhio & Catholic Charities
Catholic Charities is working with the Church of Latter Day Saints and Feed Ohio to help stock pantry shelves this summer. FeedOhio will be collecting can goods at the Red’s game on Aug 19th. If you are going to the game, bring 3 can goods and get a free ticket to a future game. The food will go to 30 different pantries to help restock shelves that often get low during the summer.

Counseling Services in Springfield
Mary Brugger is a long time attendee of St. Teresa Parish and presently the Clinical Supervisor over the counseling services offered through Catholic Charities in the Springfield location. We serve all individuals (children, adolescents, adults, and seniors), couples, and families who are striving to overcome an emotional or psychological issue. These issues may arise from stress, relationships, addiction, self-image or behavioral issues. Everyone at some point benefits from talking with a licensed and professional counselor or social worker. If you would like additional information regarding our counseling services please feel free to contact her at the office at (937) 325-8715 x110. Our offices are located at 701 E. Columbia St. Springfield, Ohio 45503.
Volunteer for Food Pantry in Springfield

The Catholic Charities food pantry located at 701 E. Columbia St. Springfield, Ohio is in need of volunteers on Wed and Thursday from 2pm-6pm. Volunteers assist clients as they shop at the food pantry. This is an opportunity to walk side by side and be the hands and feet of Christ for others. If you can offer a few hours a week in this act of Mercy, call Leslie Hoylman (937) 323-6507 Ext. 128.

Senior Companions

Are you looking for a fulfilling volunteer opportunity and a chance to make a difference for a senior citizen in need? Catholic Charities might have the perfect opportunity for you.

Senior Companions are volunteers age 55 and over who make a difference by providing assistance and friendship to older adults who have difficulty with daily living tasks, such as grocery shopping or assisting with meal preparation. We help these adults remain independent in their homes instead of having to move to more costly institutional care.
Senior Companions serve 15 to 40 hours per week helping an average of two to four adult clients live independently in their own homes. Volunteers receive pre-service orientation, training, supplemental insurance while on duty, and may qualify to earn a tax-free hourly stipend. For more information on eligibility requirements or to receive an application contact Jeanne Cairns at 513-672-3718.
